Inauguration
"The idea of holding a series
of Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships prior to, and at a
venue close to that of, the World Championships was born at a
meeting of Commonwealth delegates in Munich at the 1969 World
Championships. A steering committee was formed and chaired by
Mr. A.K. (Bill) Vint. They decided to hold the first Commonwealth
Championships in Singapore in 1971 prior to the World Championships
in Nagoya, Japan."
Mr. B. Denis George,
former Chairman of the CTTF Classification & Technical Committee
