14th Commonwealth Table Tennis
Championships
(Singapore)
The Championships received entries from 15 countries and was one of the strongest Commonwealth Championships of all times. As in Glasgow, Singapore was the most successful nation in terms of numbers of medals won with their domination of the strong women's events. Despite the strongest entry for several years, England's retained the Men's Team and Men's singles Championships, with an improved Singapore taking second place.
The Championships were widely covered on the Singapore Sports City TV channel and received very extensive press and media coverage throughout Singapore as well as a wide range of press reports in a number of the participating countries. The Singapore Table Tennis Association were the first to operate a website promoting the Championships beforehand and provided a very good results service throughout.
